Exploring Salone del Mobile 2024: A Showcase of Design Excellence

Salone del Mobile, the renowned Milano Furniture Fair, unfolded its splendor from April 16 to April 21, 2024, within the expansive halls of Fiera Milano. As design enthusiasts and professionals thronged the city, Milan buzzed with creative fervor during Design Week.

Amidst this vibrant atmosphere, we encountered the innovative prowess of emerging talents, including master students from BAPUS Belgrade, who showcased their SCION project at Salone Satellite 2024.

SCION, amidst the prevailing tide of mass production, aims to infuse each piece with a narrative rooted in tradition and sustainability. Notably, Andjela Tasković, a young designer from Serbia, presented her three furniture pieces: DUDA and KITE, crafted from solid oak wood, transcend mere functionality to embody artistic expression, epitomizing the allure of modern design.

Embracing Tradition and Sustainability

Solid wood emerged as a popular choice in the design of stools, chairs, and tables among Romanian and German producers, adding a touch of elegance and durability to their creations. A crowded pavilion showcased Italian wood producers, where visitors marveled at Black Poplar wooden tables, bears, and a Trojan horse made of wood, captivating the audience with its exquisite craftsmanship.

Immersing in Milan’s Design Landscape

Exploring Milan’s Design Week, we were drawn to the historic Brera district and DIESEL Home Salone, where captivating displays awaited. Nendo’s exhibition showcased Milan’s diverse design landscape.

As night falls, the city’s energy converges at Bar Basso, where libations flow and conversations linger until the early hours.

In essence, Salone del Mobile Milano and Salone Satellite 2024 reaffirmed Milan’s status as a global epicenter of design innovation and creativity, leaving an indelible mark on the world of design.
